Colchester2020 welcomes new Chair

Tim Newcomb, Divisional Commander for Colchester and Tendring Police, has taken on the role of Chair for Colchester2020.

He replaces Paul Zollinger-Read who has recently moved from his position as Chief Executive of NHS North East Essex to a new role in Cambridge.

Chief Superintendent Newcomb, who joined the Partnership last year, said: ''I am delighted to become Chair of Colchester2020. We have an ambitious programme of work ahead of us, and a real dedication to make a difference to the lives of people in the borough. Our vision is to make Colchester an even better place to live, work, study and visit and I look forward to leading the Partnership in achieving this goal.''

As well as taking on the role as Chair, Chief Superintendent Newcomb will continue to lead on the Partnership's priority to create safer neighbourhoods and stronger, inclusive communities.

Colchester2020 is a group which brings together high-profile community leaders from the Colchester’s public, private, voluntary and community organisations to help shape the long term future of the borough.

Paul Watson, the new Chief Executive of NHS North East Essex, has also joined the Partnership.
