Assembly Meeting October 2007
Over 100 delegates attended the recent Colchester2020 Assembly Meeting held on 18 October 2007. Dr Elizabeth Hall, Chair, welcomed delegates to the meeting and Steve Bradshaw, Vice-Chair, updated on the challenges and achievements over the past four years since the Community Strategy was launched in 2003. On behalf of Colchester2020, Dr Elizabeth Hall launched Colchester’s Sustainable Community Strategy, taking Colchester to 2020 and beyond, and spoke about the exciting opportunities facing the Borough.
Professor Jules Pretty OBE, University of Essex, gave the keynote presentation ''Why we should be worried about Carbon Reduction'' and this was followed by an interactive market stall session around the Transport, Heritage & Culture, 2012 London Olympics, Business & Employment and Life Opportunities Priorities. During this session Colchster2020 Partners were available to speak to delegates about Colchester2020’s Vision and the Priorities that they have committed to achieving.
The next Assembly Meeting will be held in March 2008 and will focus on Carbon Reduction and Colchester2020 will be issuing the ''Colchester Carbon Reduction Challenge'' at that meeting.
