Get you, your colleagues and their families on your bikes
We appreciate that some of you may not have ridden a bike for years, or you may not feel confident cycling on the road with your children. If you want to improve yours and your family’s knowledge and confidence of how to cycle safely, we are here to help and can offer the following:
- Free training taster sessions to give you and your family the basics of riding safely on road
- Sign up to look for a bike buddy at www.colchester2020traveltogether.com
- Contact the Travel Plan team for a cycling map and/or advice on routes on 01206 506476 or travel.plan.club@colchester.gov.uk

Bike Training can give you the confidence to ride on road and safely
The free (donations to Re-Cycle would be welcomed) training taster sessions will be offered across the community. The training will consist of a two hour session off road, which will cover the basics of cycling safely, including regular bike safety checks you should make, the highway code for cyclists, stopping and starting safely, hand signals and turning safely, positioning yourself on the road and how to interact with traffic.
Spaces are limited and you do need to book in advance, so if you would like to take part please complete the form below and we will endeavour to accommodate you. Please visit www.bikeweek.org.uk for more details.
